Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West Welcome Baby Boy
Kim Kardashian West and her husband, Kanye West, welcomed the arrival of their son this morning. Mother and son are doing well. Kim was originally due around Christmas, but it was reported recently that she would likely be induced a month early, around Thanksgiving, because of her medical history.
In November, Kim said this was a "high risk" pregnancy after an ultrasound showed excess fluid in her placenta, generally a sign of gestational diabetes. Prior to the birth, she said she was nervous. On her website, she said, "This pregnancy, I'm definitely scared for my delivery, but trying my best to be hopeful and not stress out too much!" She also mentioned that her risk of preclampsia and placenta acreeta were increased.
"There's not a whole lot I can do to prevent it, so my anxiety is a little high leading up to my delivery. In a very rare case, I might need a hysterectomy after delivery if my condition is severe enough, but luckily my doctor doesn't think this will happen," she adds. "So as time goes on, I am stressing out less and trying to go with the flow."
Kim has said publicly that she's done being pregnant. "I’m so over it … I am beyond over it," she told Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview on Nov. 13. "I said this last time. I said I am done. Don't ever make me go through that again. … How miserable it is, swollen feet and heartburn. It is the worst." She had similar thoughts that month when she said on her blog that pregnancy was "the worst experience of my life." "I don't enjoy one moment of it," she said, "and I don't understand people who enjoy it." But, the end result makes it all worth it.
